lives and works between Carrara [it] Berlin [de] and Schouwerzijl [nl]
my art is a conversation, the material my partner.
the human body inspires my sculptures, paintings, and drawings. I strive to portray the abstract qualities of the body within the realm of realism. It is important to have a strength and elegance in lines, to have boldness in shape. The work should speak for itself.
The various materials I use interact with and build upon each other. The quick tempo of drawing and painting allows me a freedom I seek when carving stone. The steadfastness of stone provides space for contemplation I forego when drawing or painting. To appreciate and use the advantages of both is the greatest source of my work.
